Jill Sherman is an enrolled member of the Hoopa Tribe. She is Assistant Tribal Government Manager with the Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians in San Diego. Jill holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Humboldt State University with a minor in Native American Studies. For the past 10 years, she was Environmental Director for the Pechanga Band of Luiseno Mission Indians. In 2000, Ms. Sherman received her appointment to the State of California's Native American Heritage Commission. Her service is at the will of the California Governor. Jill also serves as an elected representative to the U.S. EPA’s Regional Tribal Operations Committee (RTOC) for Southern California Tribes. Jill serves as an elected representative of RTOC to the National Tribal Air Association (NTAA). She is in her second two year term as Vice-President of the Native American Environmental Protection Coalition (NAEPC) Board.
